Embedded artifact: "Fix it Fast: Chromebook Tips"
This artifact reflects the learning outcome by being something I can share with staff in grades 3-12 in my school district. Eight years ago, I created a flowchart to put in classrooms for students to help resolve the most common Chromebook issues. It has since fallen back to the general noise of everything posted in classrooms and hallways. This infographic is visually appealing, simpler, and presents four simple actions that will fix the same, common Chromebook issues.
I had to look at the information I wanted to present and distill it down as I created this infographic. It helped me realize that sometimes, less is more in capturing student attention. One of the most difficult things in education today is finding time for professional development. Often times, technology loses out to mandatory safety or curriculum trainings. This method will help fill in the gaps, where we can teach staff and students how to help themselves without a lot of instruction time.
Construct shareable multimedia projects aligned with their curricular outcomes.
Figjam board: interactive lesson titled You should probably change your password.
For this project, I created a lesson around teaching password best practices. My intention was to make a lesson that any teacher could take and put in their classrooms right away. I built this considering both practical applications (helping students remember secure passwords) and standards-aligned content (PDE SAS Standard Area - 15.4: Computer and Information Technologies, for example Standard - 15.4.8.B, Interpret and apply appropriate social, legal, ethical, and safe behaviors of digital citizenship).
This assignment forced me out of my comfort zone, exploring ways students can interact with each other and the class to better retain the information presented. I liked getting to try another tool, Figjam, and seeing what would be possible for making something on the modified/reinvented side of the SAMR model for edtech integration.

Create a choice board: Spartan Skills MicroPD
This artifact reflects the learning outcome by creating a visually pleasing website that links to current created content, allows for easy expansion, and would allow for professional staff to use this for professional development hours with the included worksheet. This concept of MicroPD became a springboard for one of my EDU 597 Instructional Technology Specialist Practicum projects. The assignment forced me to think of professional development beyond the typical lecture-style sessions, which will in turn make me a stronger educator.
